After having cleared all required concussion tests, Rajasthan Royals team captain Steve Smith can now return to the team.
Australian player Steve Smith may be recalled to have missed out the Australian tour of England after being struck in a practice session. As he had passed the concussion tests that had been required from him, he is now cleared to have his IPL return with the Rajasthan Royals which he captains.
This has already been confirmed by the team’s head coach Andrew McDonald who says, ‘Fantastic news that Steve is available. It's fantastic especially on the back of some setbacks back in the UK. It's obviously great to have your skipper available for the first game’.
‘In terms of the rest of the squad, we couldn't be happier with their preparation. We've got what we needed, having been here nice and early to get our preparation going on the back of the long lay-off. We have got the bases covered and have some really good depth in the squad and really looking forward to seeing what it looks like in a real competitive match against CSK’, he added.
Prior to his arrival in Dubai, Smith came from England where he had also passed the concussion tests but was kept out of the game. Now, he was already given a couple of days to rest before being asked if he is ready for their upcoming match against CSK.
With that, Smith says, ‘I've been in Dubai for a couple of days now with some good rest and then got into a bit of running. Yesterday I did a bit of zig-zag running, which is part of the protocols to pass to get back to play and today I'll have a hit in the nets. Hopefully, pull up well from the hit and be good to play tomorrow’.
So far, the odds of their upcoming match are +112 for the Rajasthan Royals and -149.25 for the Chennai Super Kings. To know the odds of the other upcoming matches, visit Betwala.
