Stokes said David Warner is a dangerous batsman they need to watch
England vice-captain Ben Stokes said Australia batsman David Warner is the biggest threat to England winning the upcoming Ashes series.
“Warner is a player who can take games away from you,” said Stokes in an interview with The Times on Sunday. “He is a phenomenal batsman and a very dangerous opener so to tie him down and not let him establish his authority against us would be a really big plus for us for the rest of the series.”
“We don't want to give anything away to any of their batsmen. We want to let them know that we're here to be serious and everyone in the changing room is desperately trying to get that urn back."
England will play against Australia in 5 Test matches for the annual Ashes series. The first Test game will be held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground from August 1 to 6.
Home nation England currently has -141 odds to win the game while Australia has +120 odds. If you want to wager on these odds, check out Betwala’s thorough review on Sportsbet.io.
