Batsman Suresh Raina says he is available to bat for number 4
Batsman Suresh Raina said that he is available to bat for no.4. The 32-year-old-batsman hasn’t participated in any cricket event since he had a knee injury. Raina’s expected to come back for the T20 World Cup.
He said that his knee injury is cleared up and that he is fit to bat for no.4. Raina has accumulated 1605 runs in 78 T20 matches.
‘Basically my left knee was cleaned up. I expect to be back playing in November. I can be the No. 4 for India. I have batted in that slot before and delivered. I am looking forward to an opportunity with two T20 World Cups coming up’.
When asked about India’s current no.4, Rishabh Pant, Raina backed up the youngster's determination to pursue his individual style in batting.
‘He appears confused, is not playing his natural game. He is looking for singles, blocking, and appears lost. Someone needs to talk to him as MS Dhoni would do to players. Cricket is a mental game and Pant has to be backed to play his attacking brand of cricket. Right now he seems to be playing under instructions and it is not working’.
India cricket team will play three Tests against South Africa. The Test matches will begin South Africa’s campaign for the World Test Championship.
