The Bangladeshi opener decided to withdraw from the tour due to the pregnancy of his wife
Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal has withdrawn from the upcoming India tour due to personal reasons. The BCB made the announcement of his unavailability in the tour which is comprised of three T20Is and two Test matches next month. Tamim decided not to join the tour to stay with his wife who is currently pregnant.
‘Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal Khan has pulled himself out of the Tour of India on personal grounds’, the BCB said. ‘Tamim had communicated his reasons for wanting to miss the tour and the Board has accepted the request. The BCB will name a replacement for Tamim shortly’.
In last week’s reports, Tamim was speculated to miss some parts of the tour. However, following the update on his wife’s health, he will be absent for the entire duration of the tour.
During the Tri-Nation series, Tamim also didn’t join the team due to fatigue and his failure to score good numbers during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
The Bangladesh Cricket Team is set to play the first T20I match with India on November 3 in Delhi. Odds of this match will be updated soon. Check out the latest cricket odds on Betwala.
