Ravichandran Ashwin is one of India cricket team’s best player in Test cricket. He is included in the 15 man squad for the Test series against South Africa today, October 2.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar said that Ashwin is one of the most important and consistent members of India cricket team. Ashwin has an impressive record of 324 wickets in 65 international Test matches.
‘Ashwin is one of the leading bowlers. And he has done well not with just the ball but also contributed by scoring crucial runs. So, I think he is an integral part of this Indian team without any doubt’.
‘I think ups and downs are going to be there in everyone's career. Ashwin has been around for a long time and has done well, shown consistency. Ashwin for me remains one of the most important players in this Indian set-up’.
Ashwin was rested after India’s tour of Australia after sustaining an injury in his left abdomen.
India cricket team will play three Tests for the tour. The scores from the Test matches are included in the World Test Championship.
