UAE to Officially Host IPL 2020

The BCCI has officially received the approval of the local Indian government to conduct the IPL 2020 in UAE.

The franchises of the IPL 2020 have finally received the nod that they have been waiting for from the Indian government. With that, it may now be confirmed that the UAE will be the official hosts of this year’s IPL season that will take place from September 19 to November 10.

The official government will hold a short meeting with the BCCI office-bearers to discuss the standard operating procedures which may address the concerns of the franchises before flying towards UAE on August 21.

As the venue had been confirmed, the BCCI is now working hard to obtain a new title sponsor by next week as Vivo suspended its sponsorship from the league. With that, BCCI secretary Jay Shah released invitations of Expression of Interest for the IPL 2020 title sponsorship through media statements.

The said media statements specify that the rights are available until December 31 and that business conglomerates with a minimum turnover of ₹300 crores will be eligible for the said title sponsorship. Aside from that, the BCCI’s statement also said that the EOIs must be submitted by 5 PM of August 14. Meanwhile, the bids for the title sponsorship should be emailed between 11 AM and 1 PM on August 18.
