USA cricket players will temporarily receive reduced salaries while the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
USA Cricket Board will reduce the salaries of its players by at least 50% until the end of the contract period which is until July. The substantial pay cuts are in accordance with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which has badly affected the USA.
Mid-2019, USA Cricket handed out contracts for the very first time. Players in the USA receive an average of $70,000 and a maximum of $90,000 per player. This amount of sales were given to the players to ensure that the cricket players will resign from their current jobs to pursue cricket on a full-time basis.
All cricket matches had been postponed in the USA indefinitely. Among those which had been affected is the match against Scotland in April and the team’s tour in the Netherlands in June. Cricket league events in the country had also been called off until further notice. Aside from that, other major sports events had also been suspended in the USA like the NBA and the MLB.
