James Pattinson will not play in the upcoming match as well
Khawaja is not the only player that will not play for Australia in the fourth Test match of the Ashes this year. James Pattinson and Mitchell Marsh are also not selected for the team’s Test squad lineup as well. Meanwhile, Steve Smith comes back into the series after recovering from an injury he got in the Lord’s Test.
Meanwhile, Peter Siddle and Mitchell Starc made the cut. Aussie batsman Labuschagne bats for Australia as well. Australia head coach Justin Langer comments on the team’s lineup for the upcoming Test. ‘The tough thing for Mitch (Marsh) and a few of them, is you have to bang so hard to get into the side like Matthew Wade, Marcus Harris for example’, said Langer.
Langer praises Harris’ Test performance and says that it’s the reason why he’s selected. ‘I thought his footwork patterns were moving really well the last game. I think he plays fast bowling really well. He cuts and he pulls as good as anyone. That makes him a really good player, that's why he's in the squad’, Langer stated.
(Australia's 12: David Warner, Marcus Harris, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Tim Paine (c, wk), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, Pat Cummins)
