Wahab Riaz gets included in the Pakistan shortlist of 20 players for the upcoming test matches against England.
Last year, Wahab Riaz has taken an indefinite break from cricket. This year, he had expressed his will to return to cricket. Now, he has been shortlisted for Pakistan’s upcoming Test match against England which will begin on August 5.
Riaz’s last appearance in the field was in October 2018. As he returns, he will be joined by Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Usman Shinwari, Shaheen Afridi, Sohail Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Imran Khan Jr., Kashif Bhatti, Yasir Shah, and Shadab Khan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan players who had previously injured like Abid Ali and Khushdil Shah have also been included. Wicketkeepers Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan have also been a part of the shortlist.
As per the PCB’s release, ‘Meanwhile, the remaining nine players - Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hasnain and Musa Khan - will continue to train with the squad for the T20I series, which will be played at the backend of the Test series’.
