The 22-year-old captain of the Cricket Australia XI, Will Pucovski, suffered another concussion during a match against the England Lions.
As Will Pucovski was batting for his team, he was caught up in another accident. He was attempting a single and slid his bat to make his ground. However, his willow was stuck at the corner of the drop-in pitch next to the wicket.
On top of that, his weight resulted for him to fall forward and fall on his head which caused another concussion, yesterday on his birthday. This is the second time around that he suffered a concussion on his birthday.
To ensure his health conditions, Pucovski was put through a concussion test which resulted in a positive and ultimately ruled him out of the current match.
The appointed substitute was Xavier Crone. Pucovski was spotted conversing with his teammates as Jake Lehmann became the stand-in captain for the team.
In an interview, Pucovski said, ‘I remember what happened. Obviously my bat got stuck and I went tumbling over then smacked my head on the ground pretty hard. I’m a bit on-off. I feel alright for 15 minutes and then feel a bit average for another 15’.
He continued, ‘I should hopefully be back in action pretty quickly though. I’ll just keep in touch with the doctors and hopefully start to reduce a few symptoms, then get back into it’.
Meanwhile, Australia is also currently in the middle of the yearly Big Bash League. The next match will be between Melbourne Stars (-126.58) and Sydney Thunder (+108).
