The captain of the Kiwi team, Kane Williamson sustained a left shoulder injury during the T20I series against India.

Kane Williamson missed out on the final two T20I matches and the first two ODI matches against India. In his absence, New Zealand’s skipper, Tom Latham stood in as captain and led the team to win the first two ODI matches.

New Zealand is eyeing to sweep a whitewash against the Men in Blue, hoping to end the series with an overall of 3-0.

The Kiwi team is suffering from the absence of players including Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry due to injuries. Then, both Scott Kuggeleijn and Mitchell Santner missed out on the second ODI match.

Now, Williamson is expected to come back for the final ODI match at the Bay Oval. The team is expecting that his return will help resolve some issues.

After the conclusion of the ODI series between New Zealand and India, the two teams will meet once again for a two-match Test series starting on February 21.
