There is a possibility that Babar Azam will be the successor of Sarfaraz Ahmed in ODIs
Pakistani batsman Babar Azam was pleased to lead the team’s T20I side. It was a great opportunity offered to him in his career. Azam is still inexperienced in captaining a team but he will take the challenge to lead the squad.
‘To be named the captain of the No.1 ranked side in the world is the biggest thing that has happened to my career to date. I am ready for this challenge and also willing to learn more in the process’, Azam said.
‘Sarfaraz Ahmed has led the side in the shortest format by example and it is my responsibility to take forward his accomplishments so that we remain a consistent, attractive and powerful side’, he added.
Following his appointment to lead the T20I squad, there are also speculations that he might succeed Sarfaraz Ahmed in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
