Nazmul Hasan is determined to find out the players behind the strike
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan spoke about the ongoing strike of cricketers that began on Monday. The players sent an 11-point letter consisting of their demands such as pay hike and to bring back the Bangladesh Premier League. Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan spoke about the matter and said that he felt like they are being restricted from their rights.
‘I don't know what they are talking about’, Nazmul said. ‘We are always open to talk with them. But, why didn't they inform us before informing you in the media? There must be a reason behind it’.
Nazmul also asserted that they are paying BPL players properly. He also pointed out that the clubs are the ones who fail to pay the players on time and it is not in their fault if the clubs took advantage of it. The president added that they will find out who began the ‘conspiracy’, referring to the ongoing strike. Nazmul also accused that the strike is a plan to ‘destabilise’ cricket in the country.
‘I don't believe they are doing it for money. There maybe some other reasons; part of a plan, a conspiracy to destabilise cricket but we will find out the conspirators. It's just a matter of time and Bangladesh is a small country and we are aware of who are behind this, and there can be one or two cricketers involved in it. But, they have managed to tarnish the image of the country to some extent’, he said.
