Chris Gayle slams allegations about his retirement with his statement that he is getting younger as the days go on.
West Indies’ player Chris Gayle is back in action with the Chattogram Challengers after the break that he had taken by the end of 2019. Gayle also gave out some statements which confirmed that he’ll continue playing for T20s.
In an interview with the press, Gayle shared that he still has passion for the game and that he would love to carry on as long as possible. He also said that his body still feels good and that he is getting younger as the days go on.
The player who had just turned 40 last September even joked about his target retirement age by saying ‘Forty-five is a good number. Yeah, we can target 45. Let's target 45, that's a good number’.
Gayle has not taken part in any Test match since 2014 but he is eyeing to be a part of the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this coming October 2020. However, his chances seem to be quite slimmer than how it used to be because of the younger members that had been a part of the team. Even so, Gayle remains positive and hopeful to play for the World Cup.
