Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry decided to extend her stay with the Sydney Sixers for two more seasons.
29-year-old player Ellyse Perry’s contract with the Sydney Sixers has expired in 2019 and has moved to Victoria for the next season. After the bidding wars took place among the franchises, Perry is back with the Sydney Sixers for two years.
Perry has finally signed her contract with the Sixers which will make her stay in the team up until the seventh edition of WBBL. Since the inaugural season of the WBBL, she has already been the captain of the Sixers. Upon her return, she will lead the team once more.
In an interview, Perry said, ‘I think it would have been very hard for me to leave a club that has been incredibly supportive of me. There are some tremendous ties there with being there from the start. I'm really close with (coach) Ben Sawyer and I owe him a lot in terms of my development’.
Meanwhile, head coach Ben Sawyer was pleased to have Perry back in their team for two more seasons. ‘Ellyse has been our captain from the very beginning of this competition and we are extremely happy that she has extended her contract with us for the next 2 seasons'.
