July 2020 - Fourth Week Highlights

Here are all the 4th-week highlights for the month of July. 

COVID-19 has indeed caused a lot of problems in the cricket industry. With its large impact on the sport, several upcoming matches and events had already been postponed. This week, two of the most awaited cricket events join the long list of matches that had been put to a halt due to the pandemic. This includes the ICC’s Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 and the inaugural season of the Euro T20 Slam.

Cricket boards also witnessed some resignation from their members and staff this week. This includes Sanjeev Gupta’s resignation from Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association after receiving some complaints about him. Meanwhile, Michael Kasprowicz has also stepped down from his position of being Cricket Australia’s non-executive director. With that, the CA board no longer has any male Test player on their board of directors.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing series of the West Indies and England, Jofra Archer has rejoined the English squad after some protocol breach issues that he had faced. With that, he’ll be able to play with the team for their third Test match after England bagged home the victory for the second Test.
