The Melbourne Stars won against Sydney Thunder and now, they are set for the final match against Sydney Sixers.
Prior to the play-offs against the Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Stars lost four games. However, the Challenger match turned out well, especially after Glenn Maxwell won the toss and elected themselves to bat.
Normally, this is not the usual route for the team, but, they were able to adapt appropriately. They scored the highest ever in a knockout game and advanced to the finals. Melbourne Stars won against Sydney Thunder by 28 runs.
The player of the match is Melbourne Stars’ Nick Larkin who scored a whopping 83 off 54 balls which highly contributed to the team’s overall of 194. Beside Larkin is teammate Marcus Stoinis, who also scored an impressive 83 in 49 balls which resulted in a 117-run partnership.
On the other hand, it went downhill for Sydney Thunder as early as the third over after Nathan Coulter-Nile’s direct throw that took out their batsman, Alex Hales.
Sydney Thunder’s Alex Ross was able to score 58 off 39 balls, while teammate Arjun Nair played scored 30 off 17. Despite this, it wasn’t enough to pull their score closer to the opposition’s.
The final match between Sydney Sixers and the Melbourne Stars will happen tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
