Keemo Paul recovered from his ankle injury and will play instead
Fast bowler Cummins will not play in the upcoming Test in Jamaica. He is replaced by Keemo Paul in the West Indies squad. This is the second Test of West Indies and India. The match is part of India’s ongoing tour of West Indies. Before the Test series, both teams played three T20Is and three ODIs for the tour.
Keemo Paul did not play for West Indies in the previous Test match because of an ankle injury. West Indies lost in the recent Test by 318 runs. Cummins played in the first Test for West Indies, taking zero wickets in the game. Cummins had 69 runs in 20 overs.
Roston Chase who played for West Indies in the recent Test admitted that the team’s batting during the game is underwhelming. ‘We got the early wickets we were looking for but I thought that we tried a bit too hard, we didn’t stick to coming down the channel, we tried a bit too hard with the short-ball plan and stuff like that’, Chase continued. He is the team’s only spinner in the match.
