Afghanistan player Mohammad Nabi has re-signed with the Melbourne Renegades to play for BBL 2020-21.
Afghan player Mohammad Nabi will still be seen playing for the Melbourne Renegades for the fourth time as he re-signs with the team. With that, he will be travelling to Australia along with the other players after his stint with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
Confirming this, Nabi says, ‘I have always enjoyed my time with the Renegades and testing myself against some of the best T20 players in the world in the Big Bash. I'm very pleased to have re-signed for a fourth season’.
Aside from being the current top T20I batsman, Nabi has also played 27 games for the Renegades in which he has scored 476 runs at a strike rate of 130.76 and has taken 21 wickets with an economy rate of 7.17.
Talking about Nabi, Renegades coach Michael Klinger lauded him by saying, ‘Nabi's versatility makes him a very valuable member of our team. He can bat and bowl in a number of different situations and he reads the game so well’.
‘We'll again be looking for Nabi to play a key role in our middle order and he'll be called upon to bowl some important overs’, he added.
Nabi is the second one to have returned to the Renegades after James Pattinson had re-signed with the team after having played with the Brisbane Heat. With that, they are now planning to rebuild their image as they had finished at the bottom last season after being the champions of the 2018-19 season.
The Melbourne Renegades will be playing in the first game of the upcoming season of the BBL. There, they will have to play against the Adelaide Strikers on December 3 at the Adelaide Oval. To learn more about the Renegades and the other teams of the BBL, check out Betwala.
