Both Saqlain Mushtaq and Grant Bradburn have acquired positions in the PCB as part of the restructuring programme.
Pakistan Cricket Board has a High Performance Centre structuring programme which had appointed some former cricket coaches into some high positions. This includes Grant Bradburn and Saqlain Mushtaq.
Former New Zealand player and Scotland coach Bradburn has been appointed as the head of high performance coach while former Bangladesh, Australia, and New Zealand coach Mushtaq has been appointed as the head of international player development.
As per Bradburn, ‘I am honoured that my association and relationship with Pakistan cricket continues. I consider it a privilege to work here in Pakistan among highly skilled players and coaches, while I have realised there is incredible talent and passion for the game in this country’.
He also said that he currently aims to support their best players so that Pakistan may create the world’s best players and winning environments. He also looks forwards to making a meaningful contribution at the High Performance Center as he also works as Pakistan’s current fielding coach.
Meanwhile, Mushtaq said, ‘I am delighted to have been offered this exciting opportunity to work on skilful and exciting young cricketers and help them grow in their careers. I have previously worked with a diverse group of cricketers and helped them improve their cricket. I am confident I will be able to translate all my knowledge and experience in the High Performance Centre and help the PCB raise the bar and set new benchmarks’.
Mushtaq also added that he agreed to the role after he had considered a lot of things. With that, he thinks that the PCB is heading in the right direction to bring cricket back in its glory days.
