National Cricketers Set for Opening Round at BCL

The Bangladesh Cricket League is scheduled to begin on January 31 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

On Monday, the player’s draft for the upcoming BCL was released by BCB, including the list of players and available national cricketers.

National cricketers will participate in the opening phase of the first-class tournament which composes four zonal teams.

Among the front-line national cricket players are Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Mustafizur Rahman. The mentioned players are available for the first and third rounds of the competition.

Rahim will be part of the BCB North Zone for the whole season, after declining the inclusion to the tour of Pakistan.

The Test squad of Bangladesh has begun training under coach, Neil McKenzie, for the upcoming series against Pakistan. The first match is scheduled on February 7, for the second leg of Bangladesh tour of Pakistan. It will be followed by the second Test in April with both matches part of the World Test Championship.

On top of that, Bangladesh is set to have a one-off Test against Zimbabwe on February 22. Originally, the series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe was scheduled to happen in March. However, BCB proposed to have the series at an earlier time.

Other than the BCL, Bangladesh has the BPL which is the most prestigious sports league in the country. If you want to learn more about the Bangladesh Premier League, visit the Betwala page.
