This week, players had been seen to have signed new contracts for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. One of them is English player Jason Roy who signed up with the Perth Scorchers. Another one is Victorian player Will Pucovski who signed for the Melbourne Stars after focusing more on Test cricket rather than T20s.

Meanwhile, some cricket boards dealt with different milestones and problems for this week. One of these is USA Cricket who had successfully named two new under-19 coaches for their youth teams. Specifically, Kevin Darlington for the men’s team and Asif Mujtaba for the women team.
On the other hand, Cricket South Africa faced some grave issues as the entire board retires after the resignation of their acting president, Beresford Williams. With that, an interim committee will be announced to take charge of the board.

While some players have penned some new contracts, some players showed uncertainty in playing some matches due to different reasons. One of these is Matt Henry who may be a doubtful choice for the upcoming West Indies tour due to a finger injury which he had sustained.
In a similar manner, South African player AB de Villiers will also be unable to play in the upcoming Big Bash League to accompany his wife in the birth of their third child.
