Here are all the 3rd-week highlights for the month of October.
Amid game resumptions, some cricket boards are still faced with the decision to postpone or cancel their leagues due to the outbreak of COVID-19. With that, the Under-19 Asia Cup has officially been postponed by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in hopes of having it played in 2021. Meanwhile, the pandemic has also happened to officially rule out the possibility of the Bangladesh Premier League being played this year.

This week, two cricket board officers had decided to step down from their positions. This includes the CEO of Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) Alistair Nicholson who has decided to give up his post by the end of the year. Another resignation that happened this week was when Pakistan’s chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has decided to retire in order to focus more on being the team’s head coach.

The Indian Premier League has also seen some of its players leave and return to their teams this week. Due to a muscle tear that had been sustained during training, Delhi Capitals player Ishant Sharma has been officially ruled out of the season. Meanwhile, the Kings XI Punjab has seen the return of Chris Gayle after having recovered from food poisoning.
