Some Sri Lanka Players Still Reluctant To Visit Pakistan

The Sri Lanka cricket team played a Test match in Pakistan in 2017

Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan is already confirmed but some players are reluctant to visit the country. The tour features an ODI and T20I series. It starts on September 27 and continues until October 9. The tour’s three ODI matches take place in Karachi while the three T20I matches take place in Lahore.

There are recent reports that some Sri Lankan players like Dickwella and Perera are not too keen on playing in Pakistan. The team only played a single Test match in Lahore back in 2017. The country only hosted a few major cricket events after the 2009 incident. Sri Lanka was attacked by gunmen on their way to a match against Pakistan. Six members of the team were injured.

A security delegation was sent to Pakistan in early August to inspect the cricket venues of the tour. The assessment is positive so the tour was confirmed later on. The tour’s squad lineup is not yet released. Pakistan continues to host the Pakistan Super League every year. Find out more information about it at Betwala.
