Qais Ahmad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Noor Ahmed will miss out CPL 2020 due to the fact that they do not have their Visas.
Qais Ahmad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Noor Ahmed were supposed to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago last August 1 in order to fulfil their 14-day quarantine prior to the commencement of CPL 2020. Sadly, they did not possess the UK transit Visa which was required on their special chartered flight from London to the Caribbean.
As per a CPL spokesperson, ‘It is a real shame that these players couldn't make it to the tournament, but this year more than ever it has been very difficult to secure travel. The borders into Trinidad & Tobago are closed and CPL was given special permission to fly in charter planes. The dates for these were fixed and it just wasn't possible to get them here on time’.
Ahmed plays for the St. Lucia Zouks, Gurbaz for Barbados Tridents, while Qais plays for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. To learn more about the CPL which will start on August 18, head over to Betwala.
