The Trinbago Knight Riders decided to keep eight of their West Indian players who had also played with them in 2019.
The Trinbago Knight Riders have already finished their lineup prior to the 2020 CPL draft. With that, they retained eight of their West Indian players who also played for last year’s season. Namely, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Darren Bravo, Lendl Simmons, Khary Pierre, Amir Jangoo, Tion Webster, and Akeal Hosein.
As the eight players had been retained, Denesh Ramdin had been omitted from the team lineup. Ramdin may be recalled as someone who had helped TKR in 2017 and 2018. However, he has already been signed up with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the upcoming season.
Ramdin wrote on his Instagram account saying, ‘Thank you to all my fans who supported me at TKR for (the) last four years, winning two trophies, (that) will live with (me) forever but, (due to) things beyond my control, (I) am not going to be at TKR (in) 2020. Thanks to (the) management, staff and captain, also the owner for the opportunity at TKR. Now it’s time to move on’.
The 2020 season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) gave the teams the option to retain as many of their 2019 players as they like. Aside from that, they can also transfer some of their players and sign up some emerging players.
The schedule of the CPL is expected to take place from August 19 to September 26 if everything will go back to normal after COVID-19. To learn more the TKR as well as the other teams of the CPL, head over to Betwala.
