Here are all the 3rd-week highlights for the month of April. 

Several county cricket clubs have deferred the contracts of their international players due to COVID-19. With a mutual agreement with their players, the Hampshire County Cricket Club decided to cancel Nathan Lyon’s contract for this upcoming season. Kent County Cricket Club also did the same with Matt Henry as the County Championship had been postponed indefinitely.

Meanwhile, some players’ comeback in the international playing scene had suddenly become more uncertain amid match cancellations. One of the players whose comeback had been wrapped in uncertainty is AB de Villiers who was expected to return in the T20 World Cup for South Africa. Meanwhile, India’s MS Dhoni was supposed to return for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020. Due to match suspensions and an indefinite suspension of the IPL, Dhoni faces some problems on earning a spot for the T20 World Cup.

After a cancelled match against Pakistan, the India women's team had qualified for the 2021 Women’s World Cup after the ICC had to allocate their points. Meanwhile, Mahim Verma resigned as the BCCI vice president after he took a secretarial post in the state association of Uttarakhand.
