August 2020 - Second Week Highlights

Here are all the 2nd-week highlights for the month of August. 

The BCCI will be busy organizing some events as cricket resumed. In fact, as the 2020 T20 World Cup gets deferred, it has been guaranteed that the 2021 T20 World Cup will be hosted by India as planned. Aside from the T20 World Cup, the BCCI will also be busy with the upcoming IPL 2020 as it had already been approved to take place in UAE starting this September 19.

As India plans with the resumption of their games, some other events are still being cancelled or postponed. One of these events is the Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan T20I Series which is cancelled due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country. Meanwhile, the inaugural Lanka Premier League which was supposed to take place this month has again been postponed to November.

Meanwhile, some of England’s players have left their mark on the Pakistan tour of England 2020. One of them was Ben Stokes who will miss out on the remaining games to attend to some family matters. Meanwhile, Stuart Broad has been fined for using inappropriate language during their match against Pakistan.
