India great batsman MS Dhoni stated he was not going to retire from cricket amidst rumours. Dhoni was also asked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to continue playing cricket. Additionally, former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin also said he wanted Dhoni to keep playing.

The one-off Test match between Ireland and England began this week. Ireland batsman Gary Wilson stated he is confident his team can win against England.

Fast bowler James Anderson was ruled out of the England squad for the upcoming Test match between England and Ireland due to injury.

The season for other cricket sports leagues has already started. This includes the T20 Blast League tournament organized by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
