The number of postponed cricket matches tend to grow higher as the number of COVID-19 cases increase. Meanwhile, several renowned cricket players have tested positive for COVID-19. In Bangladesh, both Mashrafe Mortaza and Nafees Iqbal were confirmed to have the virus after experiencing some symptoms. On the other hand, a total of ten Pakistani players and one staff have tested positive for COVID-19 while being asymptomatic.

Some players, however, revealed that they will no longer play for their teams in some famous cricket tournaments. This includes Ashok Dinda who will no longer play for Bengal in the Ranji Squad after having some problems with the squad last time. Likewise, Chris Gayle has opted himself out of the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premier League because he wants to spend more time with his family.
