September 2020 - First Week Highlights

Here are all the 1st-week highlights for the month of September.

This week, there has been a breakout of COVID-19 cases in the camp of the Chennai Super Kings. With 2 players and 11 staff having tested positive, these people had now tested negative on their follow-up test. Meanwhile, the team’s highest scorer Suresh Raina has also opted himself out for this season due to personal reasons.

Meanwhile, players have now returned to fixing their contracts with different cricket clubs and teams. One of those said players is Pakistan player Babar Azam, who has returned to Somerset for the upcoming T20 Blast. Another player who refreshed his contract is Mitchell Swepson who signed a three-year extension with Brisbane Heat for the Big Bash League.

Players of the IPL 2020 are now getting ready for their return on September 19. One of them is Royal Challengers Bangalore team captain Virat Kohli who shared how he had embraced the long break. Another player who looks forward to the matches this season is James Pattinson who will replace Lasith Malinga in the Mumbai Indians.
