September 2020 - Second Week Highlights

Here are all the 2nd-week highlights for the month of September. 

The franchise teams of the Big Bash League are all busy in completing their lineup for the upcoming season. So far, Billy Stanlake has now signed for the Melbourne Stars after being traded by the Adelaide Strikers for Daniel Worrall. Meanwhile, Peter Handscomb will now be seen as a part of the Hobart Hurricanes after having played for the Melbourne Stars for the past nine seasons.

This week, the BCCI has already released the official match schedules for IPL 2020. The season will kick-off with a match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and former season’s runner-up Chennai Super Kings. As all of the teams prepare for the upcoming season that starts on September 19, the Delhi Capitals faced the struggle of knowing that their assistant physiotherapist has contracted COVID-19. Gladly, he has not yet been in contact with the players of the team.

The T20I series between England and Australia have concluded with Australia as the winner. As team captain missed out the last T20I match, substitute captain Moeen Ali says that he is proud to have captained even if they had lost the game. Meanwhile, the team has also seen the return of Jason Roy for the ODI series against the same opponents.
